Rest home care
Rest home-level care is there to support you when you need help with daily tasks but do not require hospital care. We provide 24/7 support while encouraging residents to maintain their independence and routines.
Hospital level care
Hospital-level care provides 24/7 medical support for individuals with disabilities, significant illnesses, or complex medical needs who require a higher level of care than a rest home can provide. We offer tailored medical support, rehabilitation services, and engaging activities to promote overall well-being. With a focus on both physical and emotional health, our goal is to provide a safe, compassionate environment where residents receive the care they need while maintaining as much independence as possible.
Dementia care
Secure dementia care provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals with memory loss or cognitive decline who require specialised care. Our highly trained staff focus on personalised care, engaging activities, and behavioural support to enhance quality of life. With secure outdoor spaces, daily structured activities, and a commitment to family involvement, we strive to create a comforting and enriching environment where residents feel safe, valued, and connected.
Palliative care
Palliative care provides compassionate support for individuals with life-limiting conditions, focusing on comfort, dignity, and quality of life. Our private palliative care wing, "The Smith Unit," offers a peaceful, home-like setting with comfortable ensuite rooms and space for loved ones to stay close. With personalised care, pain management, and a focus on emotional well-being, we are committed to ensuring residents and their families feel supported, valued, and at peace.
Respite care
Respite care provides short-term support, allowing caregivers a well-earned break while ensuring their loved one receives high-quality care in a safe, nurturing environment. It can also assist with recovery following a hospital stay, offering additional care before returning home. At McKenzie Healthcare, we provide fully funded respite care in partnership with the South Canterbury District Health Board. Our residents enjoy a comfortable stay with access to professional care, social activities, and a welcoming community. Whether for a few days or weeks, respite care offers peace of mind for both caregivers and those they support.
